The Environmental Protection Group (EPG) was established in 1998 in Manchester, UK under the direction of Steve Wilson, Diane Leigh and Paul Culleton. The objective was simple; to become a leading independent geo-environmental design consultancy focussed in the areas of contaminated land and sustainable water management.
We believe that no project is the same, neither should be the solution. Further to this, consulting should be about delivering innovative cost-effective advice for our clients, not just earmarking problems.
By utilising our technical excellence in a broad spectrum of geo-environmental fields and our unique ability to investigate, assess, plan and design, we strive to deliver purpose-driven services crafted in the best interest each client’s short and long term objectives.
Central to our strategy is our understanding of client aims, objectives and project-specific requirements to ensure that we identify and mitigate risks early in each project. Our approach integrates traditional science and engineering expertise with innovative ideas; evolved from our hands-on approach, active participation in research and development into technologies and engineering guidance that are shaping the future of the engineering sectors that we serve.
Having contributed to the development of much of the current guidance related to landfill gas assessment, landfill gas and vapour mitigation design, vapour membranes, sustainable water management and bio-diversity, we have become widely recognised in our industry as the technical leaders in these areas.
20 years on EPG have completed thousands of successful projects across the United Kingdom, the United Arab Emirates, South Asia, Australia and New Zealand. Our Australian office in Melbourne opened (EPG Aust) in 2019 to better cater for existing clients across Asia Pacific.
EPG Australia is led by the driven Managing Director James Lucas. Our diverse team of scientists and engineers collaborate between Australia and the United Kingdom to provide our clients with practical, appropriate, scientifically defensible, cost-effective and bespoke engineered solutions.
